Psychology:
At Southern Wesleyan University, Psychology is part of the Social Sciences Division.
Although most people regard psychology as a profession that applies psychological principles to solving individual problems (e.g., counseling), psychology is also a scientific field concerned with the study of behavior and experience. As a result, psychologists are involved in a broad range of activities well beyond the prototypical psychological counselor.
The B.A. in psychology is not a professional degree, nor does it make you a professional counselor. If such occupations do interest you, be prepared to obtain advanced training at the graduate level, and adhere to federal and state regulations.
