History:

At Southern Wesleyan University, the Social Sciences Division offers a B.A. degree with a major in History. The mission of the history program is to provide a broad base in history that includes a Christian worldview.

The opportunity exists for students to conduct independent studies in history. In addition, Southern Wesleyan offers an honors program, which involves the completion of an intensive, specialized project in history.

Research Opportunities

Students in the Social Sciences division are encouraged to do an honors research project to gain advanced experience in their field. The honors research is obtained through a series of independent studies taken by the student during the regular semester.

Pre-Law

At Southern Wesleyan, students who are interested in law have chosen majors in English, History, or Psychology. In addition, students should consider Criminal Justice, or the Pre-law concentration within the Social Science major. These majors are designed to allow students to take a double major, combining any of the two majors listed.

Internships and Practicum

The goal of the practicum program is to give students the opportunity to experience a real world setting in the workplace. Students are able to use their skills while valuable experience in a professional setting.
